I think you should get the car that really 'does it for you'. The cars exterior styling is very different and I personally don't think a direct comparison. Only thing I could say is if rear headroom is really important the E class might be better.
Good luck and post up when you get either car.

Welcome. Test drive & decide, you can't go wrong with AMG. MY AMG is the best driver car I have ever owned.
