Dumb Canadian

Hi there New guy here, from Saskatchewan, Canada couple questions for you veterans:

1. How do I start a thread? Am I able too? It isn’t allowing me to do do so.
2. I’m currently having a heck of a time trying to figure out the purpose of a small line on the back of an Om651 engine (used in the Glk250s, sprinters, etc.)

I own a 2004 Mercedes ML350 and Just recently bought my mom a 2013 Glk250 but having trouble diagnosing a confusing oil leak. I will attach photos of the Glk and photos of the hose that is leaking oil.

Any and all assistance would be very much appreciated, I’d like to know what I’m up against before I start disassembling it. Many thanks

(the hose that’s leaking oil is # 240 in the diagram, I can’t tell if it’s a drain from the valley in the valve cover, or possibly a tell tale from the cylinder head, or why it’s even leaking in the first place...)

Hi and welcome!

When viewing a forum the orange 'New Thread' button is on the top and bottom left of every forum. I hope that helps.
