Greetings! I am thrilled to be a part of the MBWorld community.
Until the Maybach S Classes came out, the standard S class has always been a dream of mine. For years I shied away from them because I was a wimp. Here is the deal, I do 9/10 of my own work on our two Chevys, so I determined it was time to just man up and get the S that I always wanted. How hard can it be?
So I did. Back in August I got a gorgeous single owner S550 that has been meticulously maintained by MB of Houston Greenway. Clearly the previous owner had other vehicles because the car only has 41k miles on it. They sent me home with the a fresh service.
It has been incredible, but the inevitable happened, it needs a bit of work. Now, I am particular about my cars, I keep them mechanically perfect. Slight vibration at idle in gear. Seems like motor mounts, did the whole power brake thing to check them, motor seems tight. So I’m going to replace the transmission mount this week and see if that takes care of it.
Anyone have a good online parts vendor and a brand preference for the mounts?
I love the community support here, super cool for a guy like me that works on his own cars. I look forward to contributing.

Welcome! Please post a photo of the S.
There is a section on this site, specific to your model where you can get a lot of help from other owners.
fcpeuro and mercedesbenzstarparts.com are two parts sellers that are used by members here.
Read this site about service documentation: WIS/ASRA/EPC and diagnostics tools XENTRY/DAS. Both systems are recommended for better DIY success.

Are there any solid threads concerning the acquisition of these systems? Stickys?
Much appreciated.
