Thanks!!! I've had it a lil over a year now and I'm still getting use to it. I just got done (lots of time in retirement) wet sanding my wife's 99 C280 and painting her calipers PINK!! lol. It makes the paint on my E look like a Kia !! My previous car was a 2000 CLK430 that I drove for 18 years. I still find new things the E does on a daily basis, some good some ok'ish. I'm old school and this is my first car with all the updated electronics etc. Hell.....I still have a flip phone!!

Hello @TEAsE550 - unfortunately, a lot of the newer cars have more eco-friendly paint and it is not what it used to be.. but Mercedes still is one of the better ones in my experience.

Can we see some pink calipers?

Mercedes still lays paint IMHO as good or better than any other car maker out there, but orange peel still drives me nuts! Both the 99 and the 13 have it and being black you really notice it! My wife's 99 is now what I call show quality and my 13 is next!!!!! I come from a car dealership family.....I was born and raised running around a Ford dealership my father and uncles owned in the 60's thru the early 90's in Seattle. In fact I was brought home on April 7th 1964 in a not yet released for sale 1964.5 Mustang convert. My older sister still has the car, as my mother gave it to her as a graduation present in 1980. I ended up 2 years later with the the other family grocery getter!

I experimented on the wife's 280 before getting after my E550.... I painted a set of crutches pink for a friends daughter and my wife's car as a surprise !!!



Not bad for 22 year old paint on a 250+ K daily driver
