1999 SL500
New owner and member
Hi,
I am the new owner of a black 99 SL500.
This car has been somewhat of a childhood dream ever since I put together a plastic model kit when I was around 14.
I'm also German (but living in the US), so everything worked out.
I like working on cars and motorcycles, i made it a hobby several years ago. Having a car that does not require any work (fingers crossed) is new to me.
Anyway, nice to meet you all.

still need to glue the star back on. The plastic that holds it plus tabs are broken.
No fan of the wheels but that's for later.

I need to do something about the rear wheels being tucked in so much. Not a big fan of the rims in general anyway, I'll look around on the forum and see what others did to their cars.

Welcome. Nice ride and nice pictures. Your wheels don't look to be what the car originally came with. You might also want to look into some type of undercoating to protect against damage caused by winter driving on salted roads. BTW, I grew up in the Hudson Valley. It's a beautiful part of the country. I love the MB dealership in Manhattan that was originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I also have German ancestry.
