Evening all. Thanks for a couple of posts that I have gained a little useful info from.
Gone away from 'new' cars for a while and recently got the wife a little jalopy and myself a W204, 2008 320cdi wagon for the princely sum of £3k. It's on 158k and has missed out on a little love throughout its life having no history from 120k onwards, where it had a new snail and rear subframe bushes and I feel it now deserves some more. Starting with the basics, it now has a good engine flush & set of filters for me to baseline from, new front brakes, lower arms, drop links and next week I'll tackle a gearbox service - wish me luck!
I've buffed out a few blemishes and will probably invest in a little paintless dent removal tool soon.
Just got my hands on a pair of used face-lift mirrors as both the lenses were cracked and full of condensation on mine. Simple swap out, but being mounted lower, they now catch on the window trim when folding in 🙄 - turned off the function.
4 new shoes and alignment tomorrow will leave me with just 2 more jobs that I'm aware of.... Intake pipe cracked and I think a minor boost leak from the hose as well.
I thought the purchase price was too good lol, but at least I know the old girl is now getting some love.
