Joined site for research on repairs on 2007 C230 I bought my 17 year old daughter. It has an AMG badge, but I know it's just cosmetics. Car has been very reliable in the 9 months owned. Just a cam position sensor replacement. Thinking of changing the tranny fluid.

Welcome mate, but why would you buy a Merc for your 17yr old daughter!? As a first car I can’t say as I agree with your choice but that’s not really my place to put a dog in the fight, so to speak.

Plenty of knowledgeable peeps on here whom can help…obviously I’m not really one of them he he he.

I do all my own car work. Have a lift and always looking for an excuse to buy another tool. Owned Mercs before. My daily driver is a '03 XJ8 and my weekend car in '03 Carrera. Never bought a new car in my life. If the Merc goes down she can drive the Jag. I do understand your point. My friends know I'm a car guy and I get asked for advice on a used car for their kids. My answer is always Honda or Toyota. I bought my soon a 2007 Acura TSX with 90k miles 8 years ago. Now 225k. Only repairs a starter and frozen brake caliper.

Welcome to the forum. Beats my first car ( 78 dodge aspen). To be fair it was my mothers' old car, but it drove smooth.
