Hi!

Just picked up an 06 E55 AMG with 146,000 miles. Completely stock other than the front bumper has been upgraded to the E63 bumper.

Is there anyone else on here with an E55 in the Savannah area? this is my first time owning/driving one of these. I would love to meet up and pick someone's brain about the car.

Visit the W211 AMG sub-forum. Lots of info in it. "Advanced Search" upper right is your friend. Read, read, read. FWIW, the '06 E55 has the most reliable fuel pump electrics because of the dual-relay supply to the fuel pumps. If you do not already have STAR/DAS/Xentry, buy the system. Not cheap but worth every penny. BenzNinja lives in France but can set you up and he can log into your car for software issues; PM him via the forum. Only way to work on these cars. Also, the W219 CLS is a W211 E-class with different body and interior. Enjoy the ride.
FWIW, I just rolled 224,000 miles on mine...

thanks for the info. I'm glad to see people with higher mileage on these cars. I'm hoping mine still has at least 100k in it.

The M113K engine is good for 400,000 miles if maintained and not abused. 722.6 transmission good for 250 to 300K milesi if treated with mechanical empathy and regular fluid and filter changes. Southern Hotrod is your friend for transmission rebuild.
Beats the hell out of my 1970 Cadillac....
