Forum rules show I need 3 postings to be able to have full access .
so here’s my first one.
My name is George and I’m from Huntsville Al.
We USED to be 7 series drivers until we ended up with bad valve guide seals that had my wife carrying oil with her. It was using 2 qts every 300 miles. A fiasco , class action law suit and disastrous support from the manufacture. ( Now an old story.) We bought a 2017 AMG S63 with 7500 miles when she came in from her lease.
The car has performed near flawlessly with one mechanical failure of a flange that holds a front wheel drive u joint. The casting broke. We were out of town and the dealer was terrific . The service writer did the normal thing of giving me a long list of things to do , including new tires.
long story short , I didn’t need new rotors or new tires ( yet) nor a few other things that were coming up on a B service . We agreed to a lower price for ALL the work and they got a good ticket while we were happy and appreciated them.
The car and our local MB dealer have been excellent and after 6 years and 115,000 miles I started shopping for a 2023 S63 e performance.
I had no idea what I was getting into. As you all know that wasn’t possible. Lots of phones calls , emails and visits to regional dealers yielded exasperation.
Another year has passed and the 2017 has 135,000 miles , looks like new and is going to be replaced with a 2024 S63 e performance.
That’s another story and another post.
