First Modern MBZ
Howdy Folks, Like the title says this is my first modern MBZ. Owned an 87 190E 2.3-16 and a 92 500E both in black pearl metallic that I kick myself over getting rid of. I've owned over 30 BMW's and Mini's (still have a few) and recently picked up a GLC 300 for my wife as we expect a Son soon (our first.). The F56 JCW she was driving was a bit small and she wanted a larger car for the baby.
We picked up a pretty well-optioned 2021 GLC 300 in 040 over black interior with the AMG Line, Burmester, 20" Multispoke, Night package, Active parking (no 360) and 27K on the clock, CPO from MB Gilbert with the unlimited mile warranty. So far loving it, seems to be a really nice place to be. Spent the weekend doing a 2 step paint correction using Jesscar correcting compound and Koch Chemie Microcut with a Milwaukee M18 DA Polisher and Mirka 3". Then followed up with Cerakote Ceramic Coating (first time using this) which I really enjoyed applying. It has a really long dwell time (5 min) which made it really easy to apply to whole panels vs having to do small sections and it taking all day. Pretty happy with the results, I'll get better pics after its had a chance to cure and I can give it a solid wash and see how the Cerakote works. Ive used Cerakote in the past for firearm applications and really like the results so interested in seeing how this product holds up.
Anyway, I'll have some questions hoping this forum can help with, I enjoy retrofits coming from the BMW world and I have a few options that weren't available being a CPO that I intend to research and hopefully install. Mostly 360 Camera, maybe a tune, and a few cosmetic things.
