Mercedes w245 B200 turbo
New member from Switzerland
Hello everyone,
I'm from Switzerland and basically more of a BMW, but a while ago I bought a W245 B200 turbo for my wife, who's just starting out. A friend had bought it for his wife 2 years before. It dates from late 2006 and now has 127,000km.
I didn't know much about the model and I have to say that I like the car for its looks, driving pleasure and space. The torque and power of the B200 turbo are perfect for small Swiss roads, even if the fuel consumption seems quite high given the power. I consume less with a 6-cylinder of over 300hp of the same generation...
As for reliability, I've been unlucky, let's say, because my friend who had it with a high mileage had almost 0 problems apart from a fuel pump relay and the roof which was starting to see its famous slat problem.
As for me, I've had to deal with the suspension arms because of the rubber that made noise on bumps, the roof had to be repaired, the 2 front driveshafts had their inner bellows out of order, an ESP fault, clogged front brake bleeds and now the front wipers and for some time now, the CVT gearbox problem that everyone knows about....Bref, not a reference in terms of reliability and often a pain to tinker with. Hopefully, this is just a phase and no more worries after that.
