I've been a member of another Mercedes-Benz forum since 2005. I've either viewed or linked from a posting, seen and been aware of MBWorld for a long time. I decided to join MBWorld after checking it out the other day and there seems to be a lot of activity on the site. I recognize a few names while reading the postings in specific forums and I'm sure you will recognize me. I don't know why I didn't join a long time ago. I hope to be able to help other members as I've been a life long MB owner and have owned a handful of various models through the years. I started in the early 80's working for a vehicle importer performing DOT & EPA conversion on what was referred to as Grey Market automobiles. With the introduction of the 560 series the grey market died and I went to work for a MB/Porsche service & restoration shop in Merritt Island. A few years later I relocated to south Florida and managed one of three MB service and restoration shops owned by a wealthy European. He closed all shops due to a divorce and I went to work as a maintenance tech for a company that specialized in medical and aerospace parts. In 2001 I hired on as a state trooper with the Florida DOT, CVE enforcement, and decided to leave in 2011 and went to work in Texas for a major oil field company doing DOT Compliance. Oil field being up & down I got laid off in 2019, came to NC in November 2021 to spend time with my mom, she passed in April 2022. In June 2022 I was hired by Superior Cranes out of Rockingham, NC for the position of DOT Director. I bought a 13 year old home in August 2022 and spent about 20 months remodeling it. While getting down to the end of the remodeling I was on the hunt for a 2020 SL550. I purchased "Gretchen" in April 2024. My first black automobile, and as someone said a black car is a full time job.

2MERKS, Thanks for your kind words. And yes, Gretchen is a keeper. It was very difficult to find a 2020 with all three major options. It seems MB has steered away from the ABC Suspension option.
