New member, new (to me) Mercedes
A couple of weeks ago I purchased my first Mercedes-Benz. A 2003 S55 in Wedgewood Blue Metallic with just under 50,000 miles.

I've been looking for an S55 for most of this year and finally worked out a deal on this one. It's not the perfect example but the price was right and as someone who has been looking at these for a while and doesn't like black, white, silver, or gray cars I think this is the one for me! It's already gotten its wheels refinished, new tires (there was one tire that didn't match when I bought it), and some belts and pulleys replaced. Leaky valve cover gaskets, ignition coils, and spark plugs will be done soon.
My story acquiring this car is not straightforward. It actually came up for sale near me more than 6 months ago in central TN. I tried to buy it then, but with a bad vibration due to worn engine and/or transmission mounts, other issues identified by a local MB dealer, and less knowledge about how hard these are to find outside the grayscale color pallet I didn't work out a deal with the seller. Then, last month it popped up for sale again 800 miles away in Houston, TX. Carfax didn't show that it had been titled again but did show an inspection in Viriginia of all places. A little sketchy, but the new seller was asking less than the guy in TN wanted and I was able to work out a deal. Since it was for sale in TN, the vibration from the worn mounts has gone and someone refinished the front bumper which was a bit messed up from a front plate bracket. So it may have worked out better for me anyway.
Anyway, the car is wonderful. The closest thing I've had to a luxury car prior to this was a 2008 Navigator. That was nice enough but this thing is on another level. Granted, I typically prefer small sports cars so my perspective may be a bit out of whack. I primarily intend to use it for road trips and so long as it doesn't break down on me it ought to be the perfect car for that. I'm not sure how appreciated WWB is in the Mercedes world but I've already gotten a few compliments on the color the couple of times I've been able to drive it so hopefully it continues to bring smiles to others as well.
Anyway, looking forward to hanging out here and learning as much as I can about these cars and other Mercedes. Thanks!
Rob
