New w126 300sd 26k miles owner in Spain
I just bought recently a 300sd w126 with 26k miles in the odometer, it's a bit weird since according to the inspection it's more or less the same mileage since 2012 and it even went lower by 1 after a year I will link a carfax for reference. But I think with these older mercedes the mileage doesn't matter, it's the state of it, from what I gathered from the photos, it needs a repaint, whole engine job, suspension and brakes redone, and rust removal from underneath the doors, I will be hopefully doing the restoration job in our school's workshop so i've got my hands on help and tools, it's arriving next week and i'm wondering about some tips or some useful guidance, here is a list of what i plan to do:
- changing all the fuilds and filters, oil, transmission, steering, brakes ect
-removing all the suspension to clean and replace all the bushing and links if needed
-removing of rust from underneath the car and underneath the doors
-redoing all the electrical switches if they needed
-then tackle the engine, diesel purge, valve adjustments, cleaning the injectors, reshining the engine and cleaning all the engine bay
