ML350 Bluetec

I just bought a nice 2012 ML350 BlueTEC with about 134k miles on it. It seems to run ok now (emissions all intact).
I won’t be driving many miles, maybe 3k per year.
I did not do my research before buying (shame on me).
But it’s done and I need to figure out what to do about it.
So I’m researching all the info I can find on this fine forum!
I’m mainly concerned about modifications that can be done to avoid major problems in the future.
I’m very mechanically and electronically inclined but advancing age limits me a little on what I can do.
