I’m a Benz owner again. I came across a W211 2008 e320 and couldn’t say no. My previous Mercedes’ were a W126 560 SEL, a W210 e430, and a W202 C280. I learned to drive in a 1971 280 SEL 3.5 and have been spoiled ever since. This W211 is a nice car, heavy and surprisingly quick. I have to replace the voltage regulator, but it otherwise seems sound - not a complicated job but you sure have to move a lot to get to that alternator.
Thanks, @MBpippo ! When I found her she was completely the wrong hue of iridium, but a little Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound followed by their ceramic wax brought the paint back. Most of the lower body chrome trim still had its black factory protective film on it, so it had never seen the light of day in 18 years. I do have two spots of bad clear coat to address on either side of the sunroof, but it’s not bad.
