Jerky transmission shifts

In the "C" / comfort mode when starting off the car jerks from second to third. (I think it's 2nd to 3rd and not 1st to 2nd).
Anyway, there's a noticable jerking movement and sometimes a chirp or small screech.
Doesn't happen in the "S" / sport mode.

It was suggested to start the car on an on ramp and floor it to a high speed to "clear" the tranny. Didn't work.
I'm planning on bringing it in for service, but has anyone else thad this with a 600?

Mention DTB S-B-27.60/61j – addresses uncomfortable shift quality, and S-B-27.00/115 resolves 1-2 and 2-3 up shift at cold start (first shift process of the day) with optimized software, which began development MAY09.

I feel this in the 7G on the W204 also, I wonder if it applies to that also? Yes, the very first 2-3 shift after a cold start holds the RPMs a little higher in 2 then normal, so the shift is a little rough.

So this is a software problem? Updating the software will fix the problem?

I have been noticing this as well in my S550, a hesitation b/w 2nd and 3rd gear. I just "reset" the transmission learning and it seems to have cleared up. Worth a try.

From jprescott:
"So here's a weird one. Learned about this on my 03' E500 and tried it on the S with success.

The accelerator "learns" driving patterns and for us city drivers can get sluggish after a while. To reset:

turn key to A position battery on. Depress accelerator all the way down for 10 seconds. turn off key with pedal down. Keep car off a few minutes. Supposedly an ECU engine control unit reset. When you drive again you may notice the car is more touchy or faster out of gear."

My c300 4matic with 7gtronic transmission has been shifting harshly and abruptly during acceleration, coasting, and braking. When it happens while coasting, it's easier to modulate the throttle to try to "catch" it before it happens by giving a little gas. When braking or accelerating slowly the transmission will shift extremely harshly. It's getting to the point where I think something is going to break soon.

There is minor "wobbling" at idle, when in gear, as well... It's sort of a "whirr-whirr-whirr" pause "whirr-whirr-whirr" type shudder. Goes away in N/P. Late shifts into R as well... I'm a little worried about damaging the transmission by revving too early as it catches harder then.

p.s. I will try the 're-learn' tonight and drive on the highway for a few miles.

Reset

I tried what Vaiofan suggested on my 2002 SLK32 AMG and it seemed to work. It shifts very, very clean. I originally had a problem between 1st and 2nd and vice-versa. I called up a repair place before I tried it and they said it would come back if it worked...not sure if they were just trying to sell their services or not. Anyone who tried this...did the problem come back?
