W221 lowered via SDS

So I finally got around to lowering my car. It was a significant drop from stock. Many have said you can only do .5" to 1" lower on SDS, that is not true, at least for my car...

Took my car to Benz Elite in Alexandria, VA. They know their stuff and were able to lower my car several times to different heights as we played with where it would look best. The car does drop a little when people get in so here is where we left it. (before and after pics below)

I may go .25" to .5" lower on the front to even out the front.

You just need to find a MB tech very comfortable with playing with the values and understanding what's going on with SDS on the height adjustment interface. It does look confusing on screen if you don't know what's going on.

I may go a little more. Don't want to slam it though.

If you eliminated the wheel/fender gap. Your wheels would look a lot bigger. It would look really nice.

Bensitto,

Your S Class does look good, but can it be lowered even more with SDS or is that it?

Thank you Chris. Sorry, I don't have the values. The lowering was done by the local MB dealer. They told me that this was the lowest they could go with SDS.

Bensitto.. Looks like you had the same issue I had, prior to the drop. Your front end looked higher than your rear.... Just curious.. What's your front/rear tire sizes? I'm trying to trouble shoot an issue I'm having.

btw.. I never thought I'd side with the low riders on here, but.... I've been converted.. Your ride looks bad ***, but lower, lower, lower.. Drop dat beotch a little more!!

You are obviously doing something wrong, what that is, I don't know. Because, when my adjustments were done, you could definitely tell, as the suspension was lowering itself. We even managed the slammed look, but the values wouldn't hold, after restart.

I certainly do not claim to have the answers, and I'm no expert on this. I can only relate it to, what was done to my E63. The guys at Benz Elite Automotive, know their stuff. This is where my car was done, and also where I told bensitto to go for his. It just seems to me, that something didn't take, as you should have seen the suspension rise or fall.

Give the guys at Benz Elite Automotive a call at 703-370-1221, maybe they can offer you some advice.

Sorry guys, I'm in LA this week haven't been checking as much. The values will be different from car to car. Yes, I can go lower. We originally did but I went up a little to offset when people sit in the car.

I think my values were 2.1 front, -2.1 rear. (we changes it a couple times but I think this is where we left it.

I will definitely go lower in the front about .5", maybe 5mm in the rear.

Engine off for SDS programming, ignition might have to be on position 1 or 2 but I can't remember.
