Another S550 Project

My friend wanted me to post pictures of his car that we've collectively worked on the last few months.

Base car is an 07 S550 black/black with sport pack, rear seat package, and rear side sunshade.

Car was purchased used with an AMG logo added by the previous owner, thankfully my friend let me take it off =]

Mods include:
21" Modulare wheels
Lowering links
CF Roof Wing
Custom CF diffuser
Meisterschaft exhaust with 65 style tips
X pipe
OEM LED facelift tail lights
Flat hood star
Matte black viny wrap grille

We did the plasti dipping and all vinyl wrap (aside from the grille ourselves)- not bad for our first time.

Plasti dipped the rear Benz star and "S550"- which has since been removed completely
Matte black vinyl wrap window trim, lower door moldings, trunk trim, front corner bumper lights.
(never quite got around to doing the fog light surrounds or door handle pieces)
Matte smoke tail lights

Some HDR photos:

Let me see if I can dig up a video of the exhaust. It's much louder than my stock R63 exhaust!

Please tell me where you got the rear CF diffuser? How is it installed? Is it simply glued over a S63/S65 diffuser?

Great mods!

@RT2010
Link were installed by CarNutzCustomz here in Bellevue, WA and my friend doesn't know what set in particular they used.

@tonykharper
The diffuser was custom made in Indonesia. I believe it is made from a mold of the original (it's not an overlay of the factory plastic diffuser). The diffuser from this particular might be for sale as I believe the car will be reverted back to stock next month.

@phatisfy
I got the sound clips, these are with the x pipe and Meisterschaft GT.

Thank you for all of the kind comments. I've passed them all on to my friend.

The black 's550' and star on the trunk came out amazing! I like that a lot, it's the little touches that set things apart.

Phatisfy, I think the issue with the one you posted is that it's just a layover so if you have just an S550 I don't think it will fit as the exhaust tip openings are different sizes.

That defused is the only difference between 07-09 s550 and s63. It should fit reasonable size tips.
My issue whith this is that 6 months later I might have customs sending me a bill for importing The difuser.
Generic. Is there any drone from the exhaust at low crushing revs? Thanks

Not sure. But I'm assuming it should fit with minor modification? That seller is very quick in shipping. I had purchased from him before and I had no problems with custom fee's.

I would like to have one that bolts on just like the stock one and I think this one does.

Why wouldn't it fit? The s63/s65 has the same diffuser? I'm confused?

So was I, but I sent a question to the supplier and he came back and said it would not fit. I didn't argue since I wanted one that bolted on like the original anyway.

You're correct, the one that I have is a direct replacement. Please give me a week or so to find out the status of the sale as I and my friend are both going on (separate) vacations. On that note, my friend would likely only be interested in selling if you did a swap with your stock one. Is your car black by any chance, and would you be willing to swap?

No- no drone on the exhaust at cruising speeds. I find it to be perfect, relatively subdued when cruising around and then it rips when you floor it and or play with the gears.

Thanks for reply, I know a shop that works directly with GTHaus, I might look in to this exhaust.
By the way, my car is black, would like second dibs on the difuser if first offer does not pan out. Please pm me general idea what you might want for it.. Thanks much.

Yes, my car is black and I would be willing to swap. I'm in Rossiter, Pa. If you ship me yours, I can have mine off and ship you mine the next day.

By the way Generic, why did you use lowering links and not lowering it electronically?

@tonykharper OK let me talk to my friend. Like I said we're both on vacation at the moment.

@malahhaor We couldn't find anyone in the area to do star lowering so links were more economical than doing an actual module.
