.... Then again again, advertising in general is pretty much universally cookie cutter and lowbrow these days. I can't remember it being this bad in awhile. It's like all the good ideas have already been taken and nobody's taking a chance in being unique, going against the commonality "status-quo", etc.

good thing neither one of you is going to get a new W222!

Interesting that in this video the car sits lower and thus has a better stance than all other S63 images/videos I have seen.

The car needs a wider stance though, so either spacers or another set of wheels (even though I like the forged ones, am biased as mine are nearly identical on our SL)

Not sure why he is so proud of the aluminum piece around the windows, talking about the lack of a two piece from the rear window when no other mercedes has that gap either.

Lol. Didn't you know? M-B preaches the rhetoric that "Aluminum window dressing hasn't arrived until the W222 implemented it" (regardless of the fact that every other car in the world today has aluminum or chrome window trim). The S Class faithful then absorb that statement with gleefully nodding heads whilst bowing down to the throne.

It's a joke, don't kill me.

Didn't watch the vids but if he's talking about it being the first one to have no seam-line due to the aluminum being one huge piece, then that's pretty cool and is a nice detail you'd expect from a car that should be all about the details.

You forgot the main part; they then proceed to cut off all the heads of those who don't agree.

You have to keep in mind, with the germans, 258hp actually means exactly 258hp at the wheels. They also tune the engine such that it seems enough.

258hp is crank not at wheels, what ever info you are getting is wrong.

Diesels are always torquier despite low horsepower, but cookstar is right it's always measured at the crank with car manufacturers no matter what country of origin. However when it comes to performance numbers, look to the AMGs the only numbers that matter that much with Bluetec are diesel prices and miles per gallon, who buys a diesel car for the performance?

The Diesel will be far from a performer, it's just meant to be the ultimate compliment to a large people hauler that maximizes the efficiency you can get from a car like this. The power will probably still be effortless enough to not feel like you need to punch the dash to get it moving, but it's not gonna provide much of an enticing acceleration at all.

But this is easily solvable by going somewhere else. I liked MBworld.org because it is an owner-intensive forum where people speak in practical terms and about ownership or impending ownership. When half the page is taken with ludicrous back-and-forth about the same old stuff, well, this former benefit is pretty thinned out.

Scratch what I said if you want and back to regular programming. I am certainly moving on.
Many of us have had enough of K-A on the W212 forum also. He actually thinks he contributes with his "vast knowledge of the brand". Of course that is all in his own mind. It seems nothing will keep him away from this forum.

No you're just a cranky Mercedes fanboy who took a part time job out to follow me around. You insulted when I was "pro Mercedes" and now you do when I'm apparently "anti-Mercedes".

Funny how I'm the only member on the W212 board who's recently had anybody, nonetheless multiple members publicly thank me for my contributions and for why they stick around. Anyone ever said that about your posts consisting of policing me?

Your support here is a bit thin K-A.

What about GCF? Enlighten me on that one.

I'm not here for support, if I was I would sugarcoat.

I'm here to talk cars. How about it? What do you think about the new S? And I don't know what a GCF means.

You are not here to talk cars but to criticize a car you have never seen. I will refer you again to my last post on the W212 forum K-A. Time to get a life.

If I get one, will you as well? Policing me on the Internets doesn't sound very fun. Anyone selling lives here? My Grandpa Petee has spoken (yes he's really my long lost Grandpa, and he doesn't approve of my lifestyle )!

And others are compliment a car they've never seen. This is called discussion. To a fanboy criticism isn't valid, I realize that, but this is a community of opinions. Mine isn't as enthusiastic of a car that many are enthusiastic about, clearly based mostly on appearance virtues. How spectacular! Once we can see/feel/experience it and view how it ages, the verdict will be in. Until then it's all hypothesis on all parts, with doses of first hand experience and facts fed to us by publication reviewers, corporate marketing and engineering specifications.

I wish some of the tech would be standard. They've "packaged" out everything. 130K to get it like it's supposed to be....

Anyway, still can't wait to see it in person. Should be eye-candy...

I can't believe Mercedes is going to make this car now around 130k to purchase! That extra 30,000 makes it unaffordable to a lot of people, yes 100k for a car is very expensive, but add another 30k and you really start pricing people out of the market! I'm going to snag up a '13 with tons of options for mid 80's and be happy very soon.

The base models without any options should still be 100K. But if you want the tech they're bragging so much about (driving assist, magic body, parking assist, keyless go, air flow comfort, seating tech, exclusive leather, night vision, sun protection, amg kit, etc) it's gonna be 130K...
