I bet it will look even better in person. I will say that the 2014 is not so different as to make my W221 look old or stodgy in any way. Very subtle and very evolutionary. It looks like the trunk size may suffer a bit in the redesign. Very clean and very elegant.

 

I think it looks great, especially the rear shot in the link. From the side shot, the overall shape looks more like an evolution from the W221 than a revolution. Looking forward to more shots of the front and in other colors.

It looks like it may be taller but not as wide as the W221. Looking forward to seeing it in person.

 

Really great. I think photos never do justice so this could be a home run. What I did not like about my 2007 S550 was that it seemed to devolve. the W220 was sleek and sporty but the W221 became thick, chunky and stodgy. These W222 images look like we are getting sleek again!

 

2015 is the year for me, i'll skip 2014 issues !

Exterior looks great, interior, not a big fan of the huge round air vents. To prominent a design element. And what up with that horrible steering wheel?

 

No info on the pricing yet. The dealers cant take orders or enter orders in the system as order banks have not open yet. Dealers are taking deposits and placing names on a list.

Steering wheel is weird and looks like derived from Town Cars
Not interested in "bulls eye" air vents either and seat buttons
Overall, this car might be more superior to W221s but I honestly I prefer W221's some basic instruments such as steering wheel , air vents , seat buttons , door trims

 

With the vents, I guess they are trying to keep the whole look soft and organic. I don't mind the round vents in the SL, so not perfect but ok to live with. Overall a beautiful interior and step up from the 221.

That is, apart from the steering wheel. This thing just looks obnoxious.

Man - they went overboard...the interior of the W221 was incredible...it was so elegant, some of the seat controls of the W222 honestly look like they belong in Equus. In the picture with the heater controls, why does the middle control have so much space around it, and all the buttons are different shapes. IMHO...that looks like it was very clumsily and quickly designed, and it doesn't look classy at all. The steering wheel design looks like it came from a crown vic and those cheesy steering wheel controls belong on a Hyundai Genesis. Don't get me wrong, some parts of the exterior look exquisite, but the interior just doesn't seem elegant, it just looks overly gaudy...

 

Anyone know when the dealer order guide is coming out?
