2015 S550 Late Production Drivers Seat Storage Bin
Here's something I found out.
I bought a 2015 S550 in late August (N. Atlanta area). Production date on car was June 2015 so it was basically new brand new production.
Owners manual says it has storage bins under driver seat and passenger seat. But I was never able to locate the bins. Come to find out these bins must have been phased out of production for 2016. The 2016 owners manual does not show this bin feature. 2015 owners manual does.
So on my 2015 S5550 (W222) I must have 2016 seat design instead of 2015 design. Somewhere out there I heard it was a noise issue?
Anyone else experience this? Only 1,200 miles so far and I love this car!

I just purchased a new '15 S550V4, no storage bins under front seats, not sure what the production date is, how do you find this information?
I guess these are the storage bins I had in my '14 E350, which I liked, would prefer to have them, unless they were noisy as you suggested

My 2014 Mfg Feb 2014 has little annoyingly small, hard to get anything into and out of bins.
They are virtually useless, I can see why they discontinued them. My 221 has bins that fit a water bottle and more! One of the many minor things where it seems a little less of a family/drivers car compared to the 221. I still love the 222 more.

MFG Production month and year should be on sticker when you open drivers door. My sticker is 06/15 which is right near the end of the 15 W222 model year production line.

I first had the under seat compartment on my 2008 CL. It was a nice extra storage location for Starbuck's napkins and an umbrella. I missed it on later models and was pleased to see it reappear on my 2015. Now that MB has made a decision to delete this feature once again, do you ever wonder why? Obviously there may be a small cost savings, but did anyone from MB ever ask an owner if they liked the feature?

I've got an under seat compartment. I assumed that this was for the First Aid kit. Is there meant to be another compartment for storage?

The bins on the W222 are tiny and won't hold much at all (microfibers & surefire flashlight for me) let alone a fire extinguisher (loved that option; used to have that in our Euro MB's)
