Has anyone debadged the letters on the back of the car
I have a 2015 s 550 coupe -4 months old. On the back I've got the s550 badge and on the right the 4 matic badge. The c has already come off and every time I get the car wash it seems like the towels they dry it with are getting stuck in the letters and causing the problem.
Question. How easy to just remove all the lettering completely. And will the paint underneath look the same. Seems like they are just stuck on with adhesive. Has anyone debadged their s550 sedan or coupe? Any pictures? Hoes it look?

yes, I had it done the day after delivery
heating up the letters with a hair dryer or the like helps tremendously........then wiggle them off with a small prying tool or some floss.......use goo gone to remove the sticky residue......but make sure to get ALL the goo gone off because that can damage your nice paint.....
looks way better IMO, and I can just tell people it's a C class

All of my cars are de-badged. Just use dental floss and a good cleaner and wax to finish it off. In fact, my dealer now knows I prefer the de-badged look and has done it for me on my last two purchases.

I have debadged all my cars in multiple colors. Never a matte finish, however. I would suggest removing one letter with dental floss or fishing line and observe the results. If there is "ghosting" that you can't remove you can always re-apply that letter with double sided tape. Works like a charm.

If nervous, ask a high end detail shop to do it, matte is surprisingly durable so I don't think you'll have any issues even if you do it yourself

2016 S550 Sedan
Car was built in February 2016, so its brand new.I would love to hear from an S-class owner that has the matte paint and that has debadged the "S550" if any are around.
