W222 rust?
Curious - how is your car doing vs rust? Anything of concern?

Try magnets.....I could only put magnets on the rear C pillar.

Unfortunately this depends on how strong the magnet is. I have one of those long telescoping magnet wands that are used to fish nuts and bolts if you drop them deep in the engine bay (e.g. strong magnet), it will stick to any part of the car with metallic paint.

The material science has become so good that rust has become a complete non-issue, even with steel components. Steel is only an issue for weight, not rust. The W220 was horrible even by 1990's standards because they employed a new more environmentally-friendly paint process that backfired and made this model synonymous with rust. Of course lot of older Benz' rust as well.
I don't quite remember which panels were aluminum but seem to recall that hood, fender and doors were it. I know that is the case on the S63. Will do some checking. I know our SL is a full aluminum body with only the A-pillar and the inner trunk panel being steel. The trunk itself is SMC.

No rust problem for me. The only issue I've had to fix was a rubber gasket coming loose around the trunk closure areas at the rear window corners (right side for me). I had to recaulk the rubber seal with black sealer material from Autozone. Also a strip of rubber came loose just behind the panoroof that I had to reseal down.
