are you kidding me ?
$19,500
I bought that same car with everything you listed + more options for $17,775 brand new and only had 7 miles on it.
btw, that car does NOT have factory alarm, because the anti-tow button is missing from the switch-row. If it does, then it's an aftermarket alarm that the dealer may have installed.
While the waiting list in SoCal varies between 9 months to 14 months...
there are plenty of brand new ORPHANS sitting at every single smart Center in SoCal that are going for $13K to $19K.
I'd ask your friend if he's got a turbo kit in there or something that's making the price so high.
Or sell it to some of the eBay people who think this car is rarer than rare and are selling them to suckers at $21K +

oh totally understand.
I'm not trying to be a jack-@ss here. I'm just saying that realistically, you might want to have your friend consider what the new car prices are going for.
Now if he paid that much or more for the smart, and is trying to get his money back... well then maybe selling it to some non-MB savvy people on eBay might be easier than here on this or any other MB or SMART forum.

The car is listed on EBay, Craigslist San Diego, Los Angeles, Bay Area, Las Vegas, AZ and Oregon. He asked me to put it here cause he knows I do the car forum thing.
On top of that he just wants to sell it cause he simply don't drive it anymore. He just traded in his E55 for a S65 and he can give a **** about gas prices now he says.
He 'doesn't' have to sell the car its paid off.

hmmm,
doesn't fit the profile.
Cares about gas prices, buys a smart,
doesn't give a ***** about gas prices, buys a S65.
sounds like he's just trying to flip the car.
ok, wish him luck for me !
