Renntech Stage 1

I recently spoke to a represenative for Renntech about their Stage 1 tuning for my CLK. It includes a high-flow air intake, and an ECU remapping. This person told me that this process would reduce my car's 0-60 time from 6.1 to 5.4seconds. I was shocked when I heard was a difference it was going to make. Does anyone know if these numbers are real ?? Anyone had this done? thanks for any help.

I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THEM, AS over priced as they are you would think you would get great stuff. To be honest, I would go to www.oberklasse.com they are in Texas, and I like their service MUCH BETTER!

really? ecu re-mapping on n/a engines usually net very little...maybe 10 hp. 6.1 to 5.4 seems astronomical with only ecu re-mapping.

Exclamation Renntech

I hope they see this post. Because they are "Liars" What they say about their "BIGGER KITS" is pretty true to heart, and should be if you spend 100,000.00 however for their smaller stuff, their gains are short of anything spectacular. They are simply working in on a niche market, and over charging. "For a cam/intake" like 2500? Come on now. Like I said, I have dealt with www.Oberklasse.com for quite some time. They arent known to well I guess, but they come highly recomended from Mercedes them self in Germany. YES Renntech does as well, but I want first class service like mercedes with give me, not some stuck up arrogant a$#$% that provide "Incramental" service to those with a bigger pocket book. "With Oberklasse" you could buy a key fob, and these guys would treat you like gold... Its up to you!

Just a balanced report regarding Oberklasse. I ordered items from them. I never heard from them, they never answered e-mail, never returned any calls. Be careful.

Angry Oberklasse

I also ordered some small interior things from Oberklasse for my CLK, waited 5 weeks, then contacted them. It was only then (after a could emails and a phone call) that they informed me one part was sold out for a few weeks, and the guy asked me if i would like him to sent the things i ordered that were in stock, and i told him yes. He was very nice, and was helpful, and he said he would send the sold out part when it got in. A month later i had nothing, not even the parts he said he would send, so i took my business elsewhere. Maybe i was just an unlucky one...

OBERKLASSE

No, you are not alone. I hope someone from Oberklasse reads this post. Their service is the poorest in the industry. The reason is that there is one guy who manages theirmail olrder and internet business. He is completely unreliable and he is the only one you can talk to about your internet orders. I belive other people at the company may be more rfeliable, but they do not deal with internet orders. So, DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THE MAIL OR THE NET FROM OBERKLASSE, YOU WILL NOT GET IT

Ack.. =X I guess im the only one to have good luck with Oberklasse. I guess ill stick to other places of business, if this is the case. I didnt buy allot from them, just some simple items, and a buddy of mine has their cam kit etc. However, he had to drive to Texas to get it done. Any how (opened up a can of worms) lol... anyone else you recomend OTHER than RT

Talking EvoSport

While EvoSport does not currently carry all the different performance upgrade parts, what they dont have is in production. It seems that some dont realize that evosport is in fact a tuner, not just a retail shop. I just purchased an underdrive pulley kit dyno'd at almost 15 hp gains in 1st gear for my CLK430. Only cost me $499. They also have an air intake system i am waiting on to be finished as well as headers. Contact ben@evosport.com with questions, so far i am very pleased with his knowledge and follow through.

p.s. - all their products are dyno'd and guaranteed, which makes me feel better about buying from them.

I would have to say that you would not be in that group. You made some bogus statements, called people “Liars” ect. I think that su*ks if you don’t like it that is just too bad. I have read countless post that are misguided and false. I’m tired of that What product did you buy from Renntech answer none, What do you base your problem with Renntech you felt mistreated.. This is a forum for performance if you can’t state a fact from experience then don’t post BS.

...Have you installed the underdrive pulley kit yet? and if so what are your driving impressions? pros & cons? I'm looking to have this done on my E & ML and after speaking with Vadim @ evosport it seems well worth the price.

Regards
Richard

Richard,

Sorry, i have not yet installed my pulley kit, should have that done in a day or two. Id be glad to let you know my personal opinions on the kit as soon as i try it out. i delt with Ben at evosport to purchase mine, and he sent me a thread from another forum from a guy that had it done. lemme find that...

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=12492

that should work, this guy has already had his installed. I will add my personal opinions later this week, if you would like me to email you Richard, let me know. Im excited, we will see how it turns out

Take it easy,
Eric Pedersen

Eric,
Thanks...the thread provided some valuable info, however, I do would like to know your driving impressions since your vehicle has the 4.3 V8. My understanding is that for the 430 it is an approx. 3 hour install...I hope you can give me a better insight on install time.

BTW: any other performance mods on your 430???

Looking forward to your email.

Thanks
Richard

The most helpful people I have talked to are at Berg Werks. Very helpful and they do not try to rip you off. Good prices also. Check them out at www.bergwerks.com

Thumbs up Bergwerks

Jay97
...Yes I do agree that Carl @ Bergwerks is very helpful with vital information on MBZs, I think I'll give him a buzz for my underdrive pulley install since his shop is locally convenient.

Cheers

Just as an additional note, my dad has dealt with Bergwerks, and he is also very happy with them. Wish they had more products for my car (CLK430) as their prices are quite reasonable.

My experience with Oberklasse

Just to relate my experience with Oberklasse: I called many, many times to try to order an MKB part. Every time I called the guy I spoke to said he would call me back "tomorrow" with the price. After literally ten phone calls to Oberklasse over one month I called MKB in Germany. They told me Oberklasse isn't even an authorized MKB dealer. I will never call Oberklasse for anything again.

Try Kleemann for performance upgrades. Reasonable price, excellent service, awesome products.

renn... quit crying already. You can only beat a dead horse for so long. I dealt with renntech on my previous c-class. I had nothing but bad luck with them, with misguided terms. Now again it could be the case, that i had someone that was having a bad day, but that should have only effected the attitude which sucked as well. But thanks for trying, BOB tell him what hes won!

(a life out side of this typing world)

haha

You guys are talking about "Pulleys" I assume this is just for the Komp. Is there anything for the 280 (inline) that you have heard for mods? I just ordered the c36 intake pipe and filter. Im looking for a remus exaust. Just wondering what else is out there possibly a computer.
