Will C55/CLK55 headers fit in a CLK500 engine? And if they do, do you think I will gain any performance?

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure that the CLK500/CLK55 exhaust manifolds are identical. Well, they look identical anyway, and I'm pretty disappointed in AMG for not upgrading what looks to be a pretty restrictive manifold. I'm not sure about the C55 however. I've noticed that Renntech offers headers for the C55 but NOT for the CLK55, which leads me to believe that the stock items may be different (My logic being that since the Renntech C55 headers won't fit a CLK55, they may use a different downpipe location...

It's a bummer, as I've mentioned in several threads that I imagine that the CLK500/55 would benefit from a set of proper headers as much as any car can benefit from them. I'm also surprised to see the new 6208 cc motor has somewhat similar "log" type exhaust manifolds. I imagine due to space constraints...

Best regards,
Matt
