to K&N or not to K&N
I know this has been hashed out, but I am a newbie and after some fresh input.
I have just installed the Kleemann K1 chip&pulley but I did not put the K&N filters in that they supplied.
Seems the jury might still be out on whether they let to much dirt pass. I live in a very dusty environment. What to do???

i'll second the green filter suggestion...previous people who've put on the k&n subsequently developed problems with their MAF sensor, switched to green filter and boom...no more problems
Green filters are basically the same as K&N with reportedly less oil.
I just put the green filters in the car and it def. breaths deeper and has a nicer sound. Much of this may be because the filter I replaced was horribly clogged up. As soon as I made the change the car started to bite harder easily breaking the tires
so far so good.

Green or OEM
Go with green filters or stock OEM, but I would stay away from the K&N's Benz-wise at least. HP increase from stock is negligible...only difference is aurally, regardless of what ANYBODY tells you.

I read in another forum an opinion that K&N does let in more dirt and is ok only if you don't mind rebuilding your motor every 30k miles. Now I nervous since I just switched to K&N and definitely do NOT want to develop engine problems.
