I bought a KN Filter, but where does it go?
Where the heck does the air filter go? I can't find the place under my hood. lol, here's a pic, show me please.

I can't open it.
Even with the clamps off, I can't open the cover. Especially that round part that leads to the engine. Any ideas? Or do i just have to yank it out?

Once you undo ALL the clamps (Sometimes they are hidden under other things), you should be able to pull up and the black box will separate into 2 halfs. The round air duct does not need to be loosend or removed as it will have enough freedom of movement to remove and reinsert an air filter.

99' SLK 230 & 01' CLK 430
Maybe you shouldn't do this...lol. I never look at the Clk 320 air box yet but on my Slk 230 air box, once you un-clamp all the clamps. You need to slide it out side way, not pull it straight up because the top air box cover and on the sie of it, it usaully has three hook that hook to the bottom air box. So you must slide it side way before you can pull the top air cover straight up. This is what i have to do first on my slk 230. Try looking for this hook between the air box and coolant reservoir.
