Auto Tap or AutoEnginuity
I am buying one of the below OBD II Scan/Log tools;
Auto Tap
http://www.autotap.com/product_family.asp?FamilyId=260
AutoEnginuity
http://www.autoenginuity.com/products-scantoolpc.html
Does anyone have any thoughts on what would be the better purchase?
Thanks in advance.

in a few years, might have moved on.
What are your plans for either?
You won't be able to change car settings with either.
You can read live data and freeze frame data with both.
I have used the autotap and it is a great unit when used with a notebook or laptop and great support if you need it. Go with the auto tap less money and if you know what you are looking at you won't need the add on software.
If all you are looking for is a good obd2 scanner read codes erase I/M status freeze frame data you can pick up a 59buck scanner at harborfreight tools get 20% off coupon out of field and stream mag and save even more.

The harbor freight unit will
read codes,clear codes,read I/M,freeze data,read o2 data.
That should take care of your needs. If it goes beyond that you probably would need to get it on a sds machine and those are thousands to tens of thousands.
Your M113 engine is easy enough to maintain. It is due for spark plugs,if over 100k miles due for o2 sensors,due for trans fluid and filter change. All within your ability if you follow directions.
need a link to the maint. check off list?
