The point of his 90 HP Ford analogy was simply that a guy used to a low HP car would be impressed as hell with a car making 250HP much less 400HP, in Lucas's opinion, thats how HE read the article.
The beautiful thing about WRITING anything on the web is that its subject to YOUR own ideas, the reader will seldom have the same impression as if you SPOKE it to them.

No Im not kidding- How should Lucas know who Luwin1026 is? He certainly couldnt know anything about him based on his sig photo other than hes sponsored by Meguiars and Corbeau and a moderator on the bnzsport.com board. Luwin is agreat guy- Ive spoken to him on several occassions and am well aware that he has our pulley.
The hilarious thing to me is that Luwin doesnt seem to have a problem with what Lucas wrote- the "conversations" between the two of the are quite civil. Suddenly other people mistake the analogy as an insult.
This thread is so far off the track at this point it should go in off-topic.

You know whats funny is that a person WITH Kleeman upgrades is easily impressed with HPS product!
Now that is really a good marketing point for HPS! And just becuase a guy does not have JD/MBA next to his name does not make him any less knowledgeable than the guy who does, or for that matter does not make him a worst writter either.
Having at least the JD/ESQ designation next to my name does not qualify me to write articles on superchargers, so I don't, but to ridicule someone that does and than blaming it on "misunderstanding" or "This is the way HE read the article" is rather silly and childish. It seems Kleeman now is falling into the same bad PR trap as HPS in the past.
Truthfully we have a stand off here:
HPS - has bad stigma on this board and 1 (ONE) complaint about their product vs. some positive testing and results
Kleeman - has good stigma ONLY on this site (believe me, I am a member of a few boards ) and has a number of positive account and also a number of complaints from members (including come on this board)
Seems to me that no one can claim superiority here so they should just get along and work to improve their own products without cutting down each others efforts...
Just a thought...

We don't rally have a standoff. The Kleemann product is clearly superior and as such, costs more. The real question is whether or not the HPS product is any good. It seems that HPS is getting their act together which is great. More players in the market is good for all MB owners. The members you are talking about who have had problems with the Kleemann product basically come down to Hank and Ted Baldwin. Their problems were identified and resolved.
As for your JD/ESQ.... I understand the Esq. I'm also a lawyer and used to use it when I practiced law, but you should lose the JD in your signature.

If what you say is true then LUCAS should not be insulting someone he doesnt know... ALso, Brandon, did you personally talk to Luwin. How do YOU know that he doesnt have a problem with what Lucas wrote. He was VERY disapointed in the manner in which Lucas wrote that. Who wouldnt be?

I was not trying to insult any one, why should I ????? I was trying to make a point, a top fuel drag racer would not be impressed with a 500 HP KLEEMANN car, would he ????
Adam lead to this story as God wrote it, all I said was " get your cars tested by some of the worlds top motoring journalists "
I think all of us in this business knows how it works, 95% of the magazines will give us a 4 pages story of our company, if we buy a full page add and they don't even hide it, they ask us directly.
Without stepping on any toes, one wrote that a KLEEMANN customer was impressed with a HPS product - did you read the thread ?????
In my world, a C 230 K owner with a pulley kit, will be quite impressed when he is behind the steering wheel of a 400 HP S/C V8, so maybe I was wrong with the 90 HP Escort, but not much
HPS is fairly new to the scene, time will show if they are good and then they will earn respect in the market, it won't come over night.
Adam I still wish you luck with your business and hope you soon can send pictures of a work shop with cars, instead of CNC mashines.

I was initially upset when I first read Lucas's post, as I felt that there were assumptions made about me (ie. that I was biased in some way, that I drive a severely underpowered car, etc.) that I know were untrue. I simply pointed out those assumptions to let him know that those were indeed false. Since he doesn't know me, it is unfair for him to make those blanket statements. Granted that he might not have known who the author of the article was, assumptions like those shouldn't made at all if there is indeed a lack of knowledge of the author. Those who know me would know that I'm not fond of confrontation, so I just wanted to set the facts straight.

Since when was knowing anyone personally grounds for not insulting them on this forum? Ive been insulted repeatedly by people who I have never met/heard/seen on this board.
What I meant was I have spoken to Luwin in the PAST- when he was looking for a pulley. I was basing my assertion that he didnt seem that PO'd by his post immediately after Lucas's , which seemed fairly calm.
Im through with this.

Out Of Control!!
I agree. A comment, as unintentional as it may have been sparked a huge flame war that has no need to continue. Lucas and Luwin have both explained their sides adequately, and I don't see this post getting back on track. Anyone still interested in HPS's physical shop should start a new thread dedicated to it.
Thanks,
Ben

Adam, you still haven't answered the question:
What did you do to Timster's car to warrant him changing over to that of a competitor's?
As a potential customer who's interested in superchargers, this is quite an important question and goes to the character of your company, quality of work, and willingness to discuss the issues rather than avoid them.

this thread was a nice write up until the kindergarden kleemans showed up
i know it's big competition but also 8k price difference is huge
for those who actually earn it with hard work no easy money crap
but you got to remember you're representing a business and act like business men not kindergarden kids
regards
