Monster C43 project. Questions for those who know
I am in the process of building a 600hp+ C43. We have ordered an E55 NA engine and plan to supercharge/intercool, port heads, and feed it some nitrous.
My question is this. I can make the power. But, I will need some philosophy on how to get it to the ground.
What are the largest known tires to go under a C43?
Thanks in advance.
(This is me on my way to beating on a Viper....12.7@112mph or so with the A/C on)

benzmac-
Well I certainly hope its going to be aKLEEMANN SC
As long as the customer is going full guns why not tub the rear end? Plenty of room to move in with the wells and out with flares. 11"s would fit then- 300mm+ rubber width- maximum gription.

Of course...We wouldn't use any other product.
We are having the heat exchanger custom made and are fabricating the coolant hoses out of -16 and -20 Aeroquip.
The heads are being fully ported....BIG mucho power.
I am using his 55 KLEEMANN supercharger off of the Red CLK. I have it just sitting around.
We are thinking of having a custom crank pulley made as well.
The pic is of a Viper about to get spanked. HE ran a 12.7 against my 12.5 and I had a passenger.

Without tearing anything up & with the right offsets...
Front - 245 (though that has nothing to do with hooking up...)
Rear - 275 (But like Kleemann said, while you're doing the project, why not rework the rear end in order to put some massive rubber on there...)
God would I love to see the W202 C-Class with 300+ Rubber on 11" wheels!

My plan is stock block, pistons and rods. I want to see the limit.
I talked to an AMG engineer and he said it would hold 600+ with continuous use.

Benzmac.
Flow the heads, change the cams, if possible change the inlet throttle form Ø 74 to Ø 80mm, headers, cats and depending if it's a ME 2,0 or 2,8 lift the torque limitation in the ECU.
With these changes you will have to lower the boost, if you only want 600 hp.

Which camshafts do you have experience with? I have C43, 55 and stock v-8 cams.
I have read in a Tech Data Manual that the C43 has special cams and valve springs. I will have them at the Machine shop on a cam dyno before long. But, if you already know the answer, spare me the expense!
I have already taken apart the Kleemann intercooler and supercharger to have it Extrude Honed...Then we will Port Match it to the cylinder heads.
Thanks.
PS The last head looked like this when done.

ones too fast according to CHP!
We are doing 11 or 12" rear wheel's on our project CLK. This is crtical to keep the car hooked up. I think you will need viper size rear tires to keep that thing from lighting them up.
Are you going for acceleration off the line or highway speed power or high speed cruising? This will dictate how much downforce you will also need.
We have tried a few different MKB cams (we are the importer for MKB now) and are awaiting delivery of our Flow Bench so we can begin flow testing all kinds of stuff!
Thanks
Brad

I tried to change cams to Schrick sport cams, with no result.
I had a long talk with an engeneer from Schrick cams at the Essen motor show, he said they could make cams with would gain a lot.
Sorry I can't save you the R&D, but what the heck- where would the fun then be
