ECU reset ?
Several months ago on some M-B forum I saw a
write up on resetting your ECU. The theory was
that your mundane driving style teaches your car
to be less high performance. Resetting the ECU
should restore factory settings. Owners wrote in
claiming huge improvements on a wide variety of
models. It seem that the procedure was as follows:
1 - Turn ignition on.
2 - Depress throttle fully for 5 seconds.
3 - Turn ignition off.
4 - Release throttle.
I can't find the write up and I can't remember the
exact order of these steps. I think I might have the
first two steps right and I'm not sure about 3 and 4.
Any advise ? Thanks in advance.

That is the correct order and it does work very well. I noticed a big difference in throttle response after I did it. Best money i never spent to fix something.

1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.

This does help, but so does driving the car more aggressively for a period of time. But nothing works better that having us massage your ECU!
