Rears are going up front. I'm not sure how fat we'll be able or want to go, but defintely fatter. The rear rims will probably be 11.5 (or wider) BBS LMs.

engine should be built in about 3 weeks. I figure 6 - 8 weeks for completion of the entire car, although there are quite a few things left to be done. Pictures will be posted as the project progresses.

Wow, you gotta post some pictures after you get it back. Also, did all these modifitations you are doing cost as much as another CLK?

I think the CLK is overall the most balance of the coupe lineup. CL is a bit too big and the SLK is pretty small. Glad that you will have one of the kind CLK and make sure you take a lot of pictures afterward. Good luck and enjoy.

Did you guys look at keeping it Normally Asperated? Since you are going to 6300cc you could get about 600-650 Hp on a NA motor with a full header and a 7500 rpm limit.
Look at the Engine Master Challenge run at Popular Hot Rod. They had a buildup contest, 365cubic inch motors, 91 octane fuel and the winner achieved 608Hp, with a ton of torque.
Anyhow food for thought for others interested in that sort of thing.
