Dunno, but I always research the specifications of a desirable brand and then run my searches based on specification over brand.

eg. locally for my car we have OEM paper air filters, aftermarket foam and aftermarket cotton. The cotton air filter is the best one on flow rates/protection and race spec, so my search will run like, "cotton air filter replacement merc 190e 2.6" etc.
Similarly the reason the bosch oil filter is better is because of the return valve that cheap oil filters don't have. So my search runs those lines, K&N make a good one.
Know why.

2011 C63 AMG
I bought the AFE Pro Dry S, they are expected to deliver today for my 2011 C63. Will chime in once I install them. I choose the Pro Dry S because I didn't want any problems with the MAF that can typically arise from oiled filters. When I got my OE Tune Jeremy recommended the Pro Dry S filters, figured I would give them a try. Bought them off Amazon using a gift card I got.

a salesman from Carid just told me he likes the K&N better and also prefers the oil one cause its better performance. He also said the only problem is to becareful when washing.
