what inputs are required to run 722.6?

Good evening everybody, I'm in the middle of swapping a 4.3 V8 into my '99 SLK, and will be running the car off megasquirt, however I believe it will need to be ran in parallel with the stock harness for the purpose of giving the ECU all the information it needs for the transmission. so my question is: what sensors on the engine are needed to control the transmission? if none, then I can remove the engine harness completely. I anticipate that the Crank Position may still need to be hooked up..??

Thanks in Advance.

I will finish this for anyone curious.

the 722.6 on pre-05 cars uses the crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, throttle position sensor and throttle body. In other words, if using a 722.6 in something else, or with a standalone engine setup, you will need these items plugged in for the transmission to work properly.

I own a 01 w203 c220 cdi automatic but the engine is died and I want to put in a om602 or 603 engine in it but they don’t have camshaft sensors. My question: any idea on how to generate camshaft information for my 722.6 trans?, can I have the trans work perfectly without it? Am in Cameroon and common rails are expensive to maintain.
