EUROREV ECU chip

if your engine can handle the extra 27-35HP, y doesnt the car manufactor give u these extra power when u bought the car?
also.. just like a computer. when it said 2.0mzh gig and u overclock it to 2.9mzh, doenst that make the CPU runs hotter and easier to get damage??
"what kind of damage can a chip do to an engine? tell me if I should be worried in any way? I got a chip ordered by HiPerformance chips. They promised 27-35hp can a chip that is not made to perfection ruin the engine"

Remember there are a number of factors a manaufacturer takes into account when programming the computer, compromise between gas mileage and performance, how well is the car going to be maintained, emissions, yes engine longevity, emissions systems life, properly handling 87 octane if the customer uses it instead of 93, etc.
Will a new chip reduce the life of your engine? There are a number of factors that come into play, how well do you maintain your car, how do you drive it, etc. Will you keep your car long enough to tell if the chip effected your performance?
I would not hesitate to upgrade your ECU, just be sure to purchase from a reputable company and the implications of making a change.
If they make claims that are not met in all cases, then some people will be po'd.
Sounds like you have a good-running car, congratulations.

You make it sound like i think my car is faster than it is. All the 0-60 numbers that i have seen for a clk430 have been either 6.0 or 5.9 7.7 is WAYYYYY off, thats almost 2 seconds for a 0-60 time.
