Supercharging VS Turbocharging Pros and Cons?

Static aside, this has been an informative thread and I've learned a lot by reading everyone's side.
Thanks everyone for all the info and thanks for *continuing* to keep it civil and clean.

CLK 430
A couple more questions.
One would assume that there are other mods that would be suggested along with the Kleeman SC.
For example, if you have a stock CLK430...you have 17" wheels, stock exhaust, springs, ect.
I would imagine that a tire and exhaust upgrade would almost be a requirement?
If so, wouldn't your actual costs end up being around $20,000.00 ?
What's your view?

There are no other mods needed for the Kleemann. Anything else, such as wheels, suspension, exhaust, cams, etc. is really your personal choice.
The majority of Kleemann's that we have done have in fact done a good deal of other modifications. However, we have some customers that want the ultimate sleeper!
The choice is yours!
Thanks

Brakes ...
That is a great point. We have in fact done brakes on ALL of our Kleemann cars. You will need more stopping power with the HP for sure!
Thanks

Stephen,
That is a hard call.
This is my ideal E55:
- Kleemann Compressor
- Brembo 14" Brake Upgrade (Silver Calipers)
- Kleemann or koni/H&R suspension
- BBS LM 19" wheels
- Eisenmann Exhaust
- Full Bird's Eye Interior
- Victor Bird's Eye Steering Wheel
- Lorinser Roof Wing
- Flat hood emblem
That is pretty much it!
You can always add cams, headers, full custom interior, etc. But the above is my personal dream E55!
Thanks
Brad

Turbocharging rules
I have worked on performance cars for almost 30 years now. Superchargers have their place, but it seems so expensive to get the right supercharger. At least witrh a turbo you can custom build one or get it from another car. You could do that with a supercharger also but your resources will be limited. I have taken superchargers from Toyotas and Ford thunderbirds and adapted them to numerous cars with good results, but upgrades and parts are limited. Turbos do have heat to deal with but if the plumbing is done correctly and proper shielding where needed, it should not be too much problems. Too bad there wasn't more turbo kits available for Mercedes, maybe I have to get back into business again? If only I had the time.....

Re: KLEEMANN SC?
Curious, what kind of 0-60 time would be achieved by a 2000 ML430 with the Kleeman supercharger installed (and everything else remained stock)?
