V MAX on CLK55

acha3-

There are two ways to eliminate the " V Max" on a MBZ.

1. Re-program the ECU to eliminate the V Max. Most companies send the ECU to Germany for this. This procedure requires extensive hardware and knowledge of the particular "protocol" in use on your version of the ECU. Oddly enough, most of this info is known only to programmers with contacts within Bosch and Siemens who leak info to aftermarket tuners. There are hundres of thousands of false protocol lines intended to trip up tuners.

2. Have a VERY good friend at a MBZ dealer change the "country of delivery" of your car. Supposedly vehciles destined for Germany, Italy and other EU countries have no speed limiter. Changing the country designation within the ECU can raise the V Max to 300 kph. This procedure can only be done with a "star diagnosis" tool.

Good luck!

How about the limiter on the c230? How do we get rid of it? Most cars you just change or reprogram the chip. Is this the same concept for the benz. Because i don't think i could send my chip to Germany.

There's another company who makes this possible to remove the speedlimiter. Check out this company called Wetterauer here's the link

http://www.chip-tuning.com/introUSA3.html

They can also remove speed limiter.

This doesn't really solve the issue at hand, but can't you order a car and request that the limiter be disengaged? I remember Car & Driver or one of those magazines mentioning that this was possible, but you had to specifically ask for it, since the dealer would never mention to you.

I had some major problems with the wetterauer chip in my car. The engine only fired on 5 cylinders (out of 8).

So what happened? Did you get this resolved with Wetterauer? What was the outcome?

Wetterauer reimbursed me for what they were paid by Eurotek Designs. Eurotek Designs violated their policy by not reimbursing me for the damaged goods, and so I let my credit card company get it back. He fought it, and lost.

Good thing you got your money back. I've heard some not so ood things about Eurotek. I see you've got some serious things going on with your CLK.

I had my Vmax eliminated when I had my car tuned by Oberklasse. No problems.
