Getrag tranmission swap or other??

Someone please help me out, I've had to replace my stock trans, and I do not have the confidence in the transmission I once had. I would like to seek out an aftermarket transmission. Does anyone know if anyone has done this, here or in Europe? Any leads at all would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

Tom,

I would think there are several things that could be done to your tranny that would improve the chances of it lastly a little longer. You might cryo the gears, Ti Nitrate harden them, Supertech the gears to remove heat and friction, etc.

I would call some good NASCAR type tranny shops to find out which options may be best for your application. You will have to do some research to find the best shop as I am sure that there are some shops that would claim to do gear hardening, etc that would do nothing for your problem. But I am also sure there are people out there that can really help you out too.

Jeff

It doesn't look like any Getrag I've seen. I didn't see any markings on it to indicate it is anything but a MB unit.

I will make a couple calls but everyone I have spoken to became all timid when I said I wanted to do it to a MB trans.

Do you know of any? The trans isn't all that heavy, I'd ship it to someone you'd recommend if they could increase the durability, and I would also like straight cut gears made 1 -4. Please let me know.
