What;s with the thumbnails?

How can I post/view real pics and not those annoying thumbnails, or the even worse pic links?

But was that really your real question? The forum upgrade, I KNOW, I KNOW, addressed this feature in a previous thread/post.

The pictures needs to be hosted on a webserver somewhere like photo bucket. Once you have the picture hosted you select the icon with the mountain underneath the "Undo" icon and copy and paste the URL address. That will link the picture into the thread.

What you're doing is uploading the image to the thread and that's why you have the thumbnail previews.

Attachments are shown as thumbnails because of the amount of attachments that can be had in a post. I think about 5.

The reason for this is to save server load, and on the users end to have the page load quicker.

why is it that sometimes when I upload an attachment is shows up as a THUMBNAIL and other times it shows up as a FILE ICON.

I did not select anything different in the Manage Attachements pop-up page, so why the random difference ???

PS: Personally, i think the thumbnail / file icon sucks in the thread.
I have to cut & paste the URL of the full size picture and insert it into the thread that I originally wanted the full size picture in. Now it takes twice as long to post a picture in a thread, right where you want it. With the high-speed access most members have, I highly doubt page loading is such an issue these days. Oh well....

Thanks,

Carlos
