E350 2006 AMG A/C Smell Problem

E350 2006 AMG A/C Smell Problem
I recently bought this E350 2006 which is in an excellent condition
except that when I get in the car, it smells like an oil change shop/old water 
. There is no oil leak absolutely. There is no water or oil spill in the car, no body work done. When the A/c is turned on, the smell gets stronger and then it becomes lesser. I have checked the cabin filter, it looks okay. I removed it to see if smell is due to dirty filter but it still smelled the same. blower fan is absolutely clean. Can someone help determine where is it coming from. I checked the floor mats and underneath, it is clean as new. there is no water leak either. Please help.
