i called the dealer on how to free up the left and right rear seat belts of my 2001 e320. the answer was to replace them. i already pulled them out the car and examined them very closely in the hope that i can free it up but i can't seem to find anything to free up the stuck belt. i tried poking any hole and the ball bearings i can find, playing with the plastic gears, shaking the darn thing and only short of removing the plastic cover of the spring which i think will be impossible to put back together.

any advice is appreciated.
