2006 S65 AMG ABC Pump
Does anybody have any advice or input on this quote I received from my dealer?
You need to replace ABC pump, filter, fluid, bleed system.
Parts total $2435.00. Labor total $1837.50,shop supplies $39.00
and tax $121.75. Grand total $4433.25.Let me know.
And could it be the bolt ? forget the name of it?

I wouldn't, if you damage anything further, such as damage a valve block or a strut, the cost will soar it into the ridiculous range, real quick (to rebuild the whole system with new valve blocks, struts and a pump, you would be looking at about $12-14k in parts alone. Valve blocks are $1500 each, we have a front and rear one, the struts are roughly ~$2k each, and the pump is about $1200)

Hey Boost,
My dealer tells me I have some time if I keep the ABC solvent levels up...while I find a Indy. Any suggestions on finding one? I'm new to the area and don't have the contacts I had..

Maybe call Vlad at ASP in SF, I m in Chico and have my indy up here, but probably a journey for you. Are you getting a red message or green message. The problem with these pumps, is that nobody knows exactly when you will get the dreaded red message. I literally had about 30 minutes between getting the green and red message.

I'm getting the red...my dealership says its ok if i keep the fluid level up. I'm not talking long term. Just till i find the right Indy. My other concern is it just may be the Banjo joint and there trying to get me for much more. As far as Vlad it would be a long trip I live in Northern Virginia. Ant tips on finding a good Indy in a new area?

The Red Warning is occuring because you have little to no pressure in your system, which is because the pump has already gone or is close. At some point, when the pressure becomes low enough, the struts will lock a preset amount of pressure, and at that point the system is no longer functioning as intending. This will make the car drive like a Lincoln Towncar, and it becomes unsafe for daily driving as you now do not have any abc assisting with anti-sway, damper and rebound. Additionally, driving it now will just continue to contaminate the system further, risking a complete overhaul in a worst case scenerio.
In regards to what the dealership is saying, take it with a grain of salt, the ABC system is not seen all the time by the dealerships as it is only offered on certain models and more specfically, usually the higher end models.
Hit this guy up, he should be able to point you in the right direction.

Boost is right. If you getting the red warning STOP driving the car. Pressure is low and you will start to contaminate all aspects of the system with metal shavings.
