okay, i keep getting people on my buddy list and i don't mess with my buddy list at all. why is this happening?

The only way I know to add buddies is to click the "Buddy" icon at the bottom of a post. Are you sure you're not clicking this by mistake?

hmmm, i don't think so. i never click anything even close to that button ever. i thought maybe there was something going on like if someone adds me to their buddy list, then they get added to mine or something, i don't know.
