Wheels choice?

So I'm ordering my R500 and on the V8 there's a choice of the Standard (R10) design or the "R41" design, yet no brochure I can find shows those two labeled as such.

This brochure (http://www.calibermotors.com/FutureM...Class_my06.pdf) shows a 10-spoke wheel as "optional on v8" - does anyone know if that's the R10 or R41?

I'd love to see a definitive picture of R10 wheels and R41 wheels if anyone has one handy... NVJack? (which did you pick Jack and why? I see your order did not go for "Design II" wheels - yet another label with no picture! )

To make things ever MORE confusing, the pictures I posted (see thread 'pics of 5 R-classes seen today') showed that all those vehicles had a different wheel altogether! It isn't ANY of the choices in that dealer brochure posted above.

These wheels don't appear to be in any of the catalogs at all... yet these were on ALL the R-classes at the event.

WTF???!! help!

R10 is the standard 5 spoke split wheel.

R41 is the optional 10 spoke wheel at $250 --- Design II

The wheels on these cars are the AMG package wheels and should be 19"

I selected the standard R10 wheel because it looks better than the R41. The 10 spoke (R41) looks fragile to me and weak for such a large car.

Thanks Jack...

Appreciate the explanation. Originally I thought those wheels on the test vehicles were the AMG ones, but they didn't say AMG on them as they should, and they didn't look like the AMG ones in the brochure - these had an additional raised element on each spoke... but I think you're right. the brochure was probably preliminary.

Those are not AMG wheels as they don't resemble the AMG sports pkg wheels in this catalog http://www.calibermotors.com/FutureM...Class_my06.pdf ... I believe the cars at the event have the SAKS 5th avenue Signature Edition wheels http://www.germancarfans.com/news.cf...es-Benz/1.html

You are correct. They are not the AMG wheels. The AMG wheels will have AMG in the hub...they will be similar but not the same wheel. The drawing in the caliber motors brochure showing the AMG I think is a concept and I have not yet seen the AMG package wheel. Thanks for clarifying.
