Trailer Hitch for an R
Has anyone learned about the trailer hitch options for the R-Class? Will MBZ make an OEM version?

You won't.
Ask a dealer. The R is new enough that even some dealers may be uninformed -- but part of the design and mareting of the R is its ability to tow....
I have the tow package on all of my G's; and will add it to both my upcoming ML's and R's. They are all designed for it. They all have an OEM tow hitch as an accessory.

Hello, everyone.
This is my first post in this forum. I wanted to ask if anyone has any more recent information about a trailer hitch for the R500. I wanted to buy one, but had to opt for the 2007 ML500 because of the R-Class' lack of towing option. Looked underneath the rear bumper and no place for an aftermarket hitch either. Any thoughts? I still have time to change my order if there is solid evidence that a hitch can be installed. Thanks.

yes a dealer can install a hitch for you. My friends R500 has one but not mine. The towing capacity for the R is over 2,000 pounds so dont worry. Tou shoud get the R, its a better car overall than the ML
