It is a nice vehicle. Roomy, safe, comfortable and a joy to drive. Owned from new. Plated November 2008 (2009 model). It has cost me a fortune on repairs. I just spent $3500 on maintenance including replacement of a faulty transfer case which was itself faulty, so the car is back in the shop until they find a decent used transfer case. I am shipping the car to Europe for our summer vacations. The dealer was giving me $3k as a trade in. I refused. So, it will retire in Greece.

I am at 88k miles and have been dealing with NOx sensors, camshaft position sensors, timing chain and tensioner, AdBlue heater, and oil cooler seals for the past 10k miles. The trouble is that it is so darn practical, fun to drive, and mine is particularly, extremely, well-equipped.
My wife loved the car, but it was becoming unreliable. So, I got her a 2018 Cadillac XT5. No comparison, but nevertheless a nice car.
I've spent so much money on the R that I don't want to give it away for peanuts. The car has no rust and looks like a new car inside out, even though it has all that mileage. I think it will be great in Greece. Minivan rentals are minimum 2400 Euros for 4 weeks. When I say "minivan", we are talking some sh*tty, and I mean sh*tty Fiat Scudo, Nissan NV200 or the likes. We go to Greece almost every summer, so, I think the R will last us a number of years there.
Cheers

R500 AMG alloys
Hi there,
New to the forum, so to introduce myself, below some photos of my R500 on 20 inch AMG alloys... Running on 295s at the moment but they are way too wide, so planning to change them to 265/50s while the alloys will be professionally resprayed to factory finish.

everything in chrome inside is painted, silver ring around projector lens sprayed with transparent black.
To black contour light reflector I used these lights and replaced angel eye ring with better one. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/OKEE...ceBeautifyAB=0

Ah, I was assuming you had retrofitted the front and rear ends on to your previous R...! Did you swap UAS bags over the front struts, or did you cut and weld new struts/coilover inserts into the stock front lower strut brackets? Do you have any more pics you can share, especially of the suspension build?
I purchased another 2011 R350. The retrofit is too expensive and too much work in my opinion.
I got custom coilovers made by a company named STANDARD/SCALE Suspension. Then I installed UAS Bags on them (Front). The rear I got UAS to build me a replacement bag with brackets to replace the OEM bag.

New life to the thred ;)
Greatings from Sweden
Saw that the last post was 2019 so here's some new life to the thred!
Just bought a 2007 R350 for the wife and kids, they love it!
As for My self, well I love the comfort but it has that funky look to it so I have a few things to do to it.
To do list:
Tinted WindowsTinted rear lights
20" rims
And maybe paint some parts in the front black and lowering links depending on the change in ride comfort.

Nice and familiar...
Nice car. I have the exact same one (year and color). I left mine alone and never did any extra work to it. I did change out the suspension and installed a regular strut system...afterr thos airbags gave me trouble. I too am thinking about getting some 20" rims. Great car if you take care of it. Good Luck...keep up updated.
