Question Tire and Wheel for R350?

I am planning to buy the R350 in the next week or so sand hope to talk the dealer to trade in the 17" stock wheel and tires.

Anyway, I am looking for 20" or 21" wheels with width 8.5F and 9.5R. Can you tell me what are the offsets for the wheels?

Also, what are the tire sizes for 20" or 21" wheels? I definitely don't want the wheel and tire stick out from the car and want to keep the stock low profile look. More importantly is I don't want to scratch the wheel from the curb.

Thank you so much.

I had the same idea of putting wheels on asap, which i did, however, as far as "trading" in your wheels, the parts dept. will probably give you $200 for the take offs, and that is granted that you buy the set of wheels from them. It would be better off selling it privately.

Man-Du,
Your wheels are definitely very nice and thanks for your recommendation.

I am having a bit of problem to find the right set of wheels other than the one you bought from Tire Rack. Any other wheels that you were considering?

thanks.

I think that the consensus at this point in time is that there aren't any other aftermarket or other-supplier wheel options for the R-Classes -- they are still too new.

I would trade-up to the 21's if I were you and you can do so -- they are a much better fitment on the R.

Otherwise, if because of availability and timing issues you can't switch-up to the 21's, MBZ must have an 18, 19, or 20 inch wheel available for fitment on the R -- mustn't they?

And depending on where you live, keeping the 17's for the mounting of snow tires in the winter, and getting a set of 21's with Summer or 3-season tires for use the rest of the year, is not necessarily a bad option....

I looked at the Carlsson and the Lorinser 22"s. I did look at the Brabus, I would have bought the Brabus but did not have enough cash for it.

Anyone has idea on what is the wheel offset for R350?

Btw, does anyone know what will happened if I put a lesser offset wheel on the car? Wheel stick out from the wheel wells?

Thanks!!!
