r class shuttles?

r class shuttles?
so like i dropped my e class to be serviced at mercedes benz of oakland yesturday and the shuttle service they provided was in 2007 r350's.........why would they use such new cars for shuttles...they had like four em being used for that...is that cos no one buys it?

I got shuttled home in one a couple months ago. Maybe because they are roomy? Then again its usually only one person they have to shuttle. Anyway here's a funny story. I had to drop of my mom's ML for the cat. converter recall, which they did not have in stock, and was supposed to be shuttled home because i am under 21 and couldn't get a loaner. The service advisor told me to wait in the lounge. I did for about an hour. Then my dad calls and says that the service advisor called him to tell him that they sent me home with the shuttle about a half hour ago. This time i'm in the lounge for about an hour now. I had to go back in there and let them know that they had forgotten me. SOBs didn't even say sorry.

Yeah that is what happens when you're young at a luxury car dealership. Very unfortunate.
Anyway, of course they're using the R's because they aren't selling and the actually make good shuttle vehicles. I bet you won't see any MLs or GLs used as shuttles, those they can move off the lot. I wonder if they'll change the MB roadside service vehicles over to R's too? Seems natural to me.

They aren't being used as shuttles because they are not selling. Those R's that are used as shuttles are ordered for that purpose. They used to use Caravans and such, but MB would obviously rather use their own product to advertise it while driving people around. They used the R because it hold more than the ML and came out before the GL. I am not saying sales of the R are what MB expected but that's not the reason for them being shuttles.

It is the best crossover availabe. people need to stop buying the ridiculous Lexus and Infiniti and come see what it is all about at Mercedes.
